Pond design and installation is a skill in itself and is definitely one for the professionals.
There are many elements to consider and in amateur hands it’s easy to underestimate the pitfalls of a badly constructed pond.
In the early stages of his career Pete made a living from removing and reinstating ponds that had been installed by inexperienced trades and DIY enthusiasts.
Pete’s has consistently gained ‘excellent’ grade in the water gardens category at Hampton Court Flower Show so you can be assured you are in safe hands. His awards range from Tudor Rose to Silver Gilt and Gold.
Pete insists on a 1.2mm thick pond liner and prefers to line at least the top shelf with rocks or cobbles, though ideally likes to take them deeper into the water line. This means that in times of low water levels the liner is never exposed and unsightly, very topical given the recent drought status in may areas of the UK.
